About People & Practice

At People & Practice, we believe that organisations thrive when people do.

Too often, workplaces focus on systems, processes and performance while overlooking the people at the heart of them. Yet it is people who shape culture, drive innovation, build relationships and determine whether an organisation succeeds or struggles.

People & Practice was created to help organisations build healthier, more connected and more effective workplaces through practical support, meaningful conversations and a people-first approach.

We work with charities, community organisations, local authorities, social enterprises and purpose-led businesses to strengthen communication, improve staff wellbeing, navigate difficult conversations and create environments where people feel valued, supported and able to do their best work.

Why We Do What We Do

People spend a significant portion of their lives at work. The quality of that experience matters.

When people feel heard, respected and supported, organisations benefit from stronger relationships, improved morale, greater engagement and healthier workplace cultures.

We believe wellbeing is not a tick-box exercise. Inclusion is not a policy document. Communication is not simply exchanging information.

These are the foundations upon which successful organisations are built.

Our role is to help organisations create the conditions where both people and organisations can flourish.

Meet Hazel

People & Practice is led by Hazel Behan, a facilitator, trainer, advocate and founder of Éist Saying No To Silence.

For more than two decades, Hazel has worked alongside individuals, communities, volunteers, organisations and decision-makers to create safer, healthier and more inclusive environments.

Through her work, she has facilitated difficult conversations, supported organisational development, delivered workshops and training, built strategic partnerships and helped people navigate complex challenges with empathy, honesty and practical action.

Hazel is currently undertaking professional training in Choice Theory and Reality Therapy, further strengthening her understanding of human behaviour, relationships, motivation and communication.

Her approach combines lived experience, professional development and a deep belief in the power of human connection.

How We Work

Everything we do is grounded in four simple principles:

Connection

Strong relationships are at the heart of every successful organisation.

Communication

Open, honest and respectful conversations create stronger teams.

Inclusion

People perform best when they feel they belong.

Practice

Real change happens through action, not just ideas.
